Perfect start, happy ending for Brouhaha
Riddhi Parekh and Pooja
Gururaj
The final day of Brouhaha ’07
got off to a perfect start with The Ultimate Titan, a water game which
left the participants drenched and the audience amused. A prize-winning
performance by Siddharth College won the hearts of the crowd when they
performed a mix of traditional dances from all over India for Folklore.
After four days of rigorous tests, HR College emerged winners of The
Conquerors, an event based on entrepreneurship skills. Also coming from
the Fine Arts department was Philatelic Fixation with Bollywood presented
through stamps. With anti- drugs as its theme, Caper-A-Cause had
participants create thoughtful posters.
On a lighter note, Epiphaly had contestants show their instrumental
talents. With his mesmerising guitar performance, Imlitengen Imchen, a
Xavierite was the clear winner.
Darshan Dave, an All India Intermediate Salsa Champion conducted Dirty
Dancing, a salsa workshop for students to shimmy and shake a leg.
Informal, as the name suggests, had the audience do whacky tasks like
breaking a coconut to making the guys walking the ramp as girls.
Well-known media personalities judged the finals of Mr and Miss Brouhaha.
Rishi from Xavier’s College and Freya from HR College were crowned Mr and
Miss Brouhaha respectively.
Amidst all the excitement Brouhaha also seemed to be an event with a
cause by providing a platform to orphan children from Anand Kendra who
performed a musical. From aspects such as child abuse to HIV awareness
Brouhaha has represented itself not just as any festival but one with a
responsibility.
As a grand finale to the event, Ramp Age proved to be a definite
crowd-puller. Judging this event was VJ Piya, joined by Nakul and Arjun,
popular actors from the television show Jersey No 10.
With a spectrum of events spread over a five days, Brouhaha got its
well-deserved happy ending. The first prize went to HR College, second to
Sydenham College and the third prize was won by St Xavier’s.
