Shubhashree Karmakar
Shubhashree is a seasoned leader in digital learning and curriculum strategy, with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of education, technology, and child protection. At Arpan, she heads the Digital Learning and Content & Curriculum verticals, driving the creation of accessible, engaging, and impactful learning experiences for children and adults across diverse contexts.
Since joining Arpan in 2020, Shubhashree has led large-scale digital transformation initiatives—integrating instructional design with emerging technologies like AI and adaptive learning tools. She has built and mentored cross-functional teams to deliver multilingual content, fostered strong partner relationships, and scaled digital safety education through innovative platforms.
Shubhashree holds an M.Phil in Semantics and Functional Grammar and an M.A. in English from Mumbai University. With a deep commitment to equity in education, Shubhashree’s work focuses on empowering communities with tools and knowledge that ensure safety, dignity and lifelong learning.
When she’s not at the Arpan office, Shubhashree is often found with a book in hand or exploring new places through her travels.
