Arpan, an NGO working to stop child sexual abuse, has developed a personal safety education kit for teachers in schools, institutions and communities. The free kit, for classes I-VI, was unveiled on Thursday when principals, students and teachers from the city shared their experiences on fighting abuse. “We hold programmes across schools but it is impossible to reach out to everyone. Some teachers are still uncomfortable discussing body parts or good touch-bad touch with students. Hence, the need for tools to help them to explain to students and provide a safe environment,“ said Pooja Taparia, founder, Arpan.
