The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (GSCPCR), Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), and Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan coordinated the training of teachers on personal safety education (PSE) for the prevention of child sexual abuse in cooperation with the Arpan, a Mumbai-based NGO.
The training was administered by Rehea Quadros, Suvidha Gaikwad, Anushka Bhat, and Melissa Alva, resource people for Arpan, who also oversaw the proper execution of the programme. The Goa State Council of Educational Research and Training director Nagaraj G. Honnekeri, the relevant Goa Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan officials, and the block resource centre heads of each district work together to jointly coordinate the programme.
The Goa State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights’ chairman Peter F. Borges said that PSE is crucial because it improves the skills of individuals who are morally, socially, and legally obligated to safeguard children.
