Violence as a tool to discipline kids at home does more harm than good. So is making children feel guilty about their behaviour or teaching to keep secrets. These are the findings of a 4-city study involving 7,000 parents. The survey by Podar Education Network shows that using these methods may turn a child to become an easy prey for peadophiles and strangers as they may employ the same technique to shut them up.

31% – I will hit you

23% – will send you to boarding school

21% – mummy or daddy will leave you

67% – all the time

10% – sometimes

What do you offer as bribe?

60% – toys or chocolates

31% – nod to watch TV or gadgets

9% – money

64% – leave the kid with servant/ driver/ neighbour/ friend/ dance or some other class while at work

98% – don’t check mobile phone of person taking care of the kid

87% – never checked the background of such person

82% – don’t teach male child about good touch and bad touch as they feel boys can’t be abused
