30 days in September – Arpan

Arpan, one of India’s largest NGOs fighting child sexual abuse, presents a free staging of an acclaimed play on Friday. 30 Days in September, written by Mahesh Dattani and directed by Lillette Dubey, tells the story of Mira, a young girl who keeps changing her sexual partners every 30 days. It is revealed that she was sexually abused by her uncle as a child, and her mother, despite knowing what happened, completely ignored Mira, and instead threw herself into the worship of god. The play examines this complex motherdaughter relationship. A Primetime Theatre Company production, the play has been performed around the world, in cities such as Colombo, Dubai and Washington DC. It stars Ira Dubey, Darshan Jariwala, Joy Sengupta and Lillette Dubey.
